September Newsletter

I would like to welcome students and parents to a new and exciting year.  Can you believe that summer is already over and another school year has started?  I am excited to jump back into teaching and start this school year.  I have planned a lot of fun, challenging, and educational lessons throughout the year.  If at any time you have a question or concern, please feel free to contact me at school or stop by to visit at the end of the day.  My door is always open!  I am looking forward to a fantastic year and hope to see you at Back-To-School Night.

September 9th: Patriot Day Ceremony 8:30 am

September 9th: Volunteer Information Session- after Patriot Day Ceremony

September 12th: PTA meeting- 6:30 pm

September 15th: Back to School Night 6:30

September 21st:  Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) Information Night 6:30 pm

September 29th:  WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Kick-off at 6:30 pm

Important Information

We will be having snack in the classroom every day.  Please send in only healthy snacks and no drinks (only water).  IMPORTANT:  NO PEANUT OR NUT PRODUCT DUE TO ALLERGIES! Some ideas of snacks include fruit, vegetables, pretzels, animal crackers, goldfish, etc.

Students may bring in a water bottle with water only to keep at their desks.  Please have water bottles filled before your child comes to school.  

We are using the student agendas again this year.  Students will write their homework assignments in their agendas first thing in the morning. Parents please check these planners daily.  

Students will have a red daily folder to put their homework in.  This folder is also a good place to put a note or other important items that need to get to me.  I check these folders every morning.  Parents please check these folders nightly.

This year I will be sending home Scholastic Book orders.  If you decide to order from any of these, you can pay online to Scholastic with our class login and password which will be sent home with the order form.

Please make sure you are supporting our PTA.  I can’t say how important it is for everyone to join. The PTA has been working very hard to plan many fun activities throughout the school year.  They also give teachers money to purchase instructional materials for their classrooms.  Thanks PTA!!!

It is VERY important to attend Back to School Night on September 15th.  I will be sharing a lot of important information on what will be going on throughout the school year, as well as classroom expectations and policies.  Reminder:  Only parents should attend, no children!
