Important Information and a Peek at the Week

Report Cards
On Monday, April 19th you will be able to view your child's report card in ParentVue at 4:00pm!

MAP TESTING
We will be having our end of the year MAP testing the week of April 26th. Unlike the other two testing periods, we will be completing these assessments in the afternoon during the student's asynchronous time. Therefore, there will be NO AFTERNOON GROUPS that week. When the time gets closer, you will be given a schedule of which TWO DAYS your child will need to log on to our google meet in the afternoon for their assessment. The testing window will start at 1:00 pm. 

Yearbook Information

The link below will take you to a Google Slide that has links for 1) ordering a yearbook (deadline: April 30), 2) uploading an individual portrait for our class page if your child did not get their picture taken at school on picture day, and 3) uploading fun pictures of your kid from this school year (i.e. distance learning, fun projects at home, etc).

Important Dates and a Peek at our Week!

 

Happy Friday!

** Monday, April 12th: NO SCHOOL DAY FOR STUDENTS

** Friday, April 16th: ASYNCHRONOUS DAY FOR STUDENTS: Please log in at 8:15-8:45 for Morning Meeting and Read Aloud.  

Cursive Club:  We will be doing cursive club on Friday, April 16th at 8:45-9:05

Purple Reading Group:  We will meet right after cursive club on Friday, April 16th from 9:10-9:30.

Measurement Unit
Next week we will be starting a new math unit on measurement. As mentioned in a Remind text earlier this week, each student will need an inch ruler. If you do not have one at home and are unable to get one, please print a 12 inch ruler for your child to use. Ruler_12-inch_by_4.pdf

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!
No school next week: March 29th- April 2nd

Next Week is A  Week (after Spring Break)
Asynchronous (on your own) Specials: Music, Library
Synchronous (live google meet) Specials: P.E., Guidance, Art

Just added to the school calendar:
Friday, April 16th- Asynchronous Day for all students
Students will log in for morning meeting and read aloud. They will then have asynchronous activities for the rest of the day to accommodate for the hybrid schedule changing.

Art Supply Pick Up
If you still have not picked up your Art supplies from school, you can stop by Pinebrook at anytime.  At the front entrance you can just say you are there to pick up second grade art supplies.

Would you like to share your career with curious students? We are looking for volunteers to make short (5 minutes or less) videos of their careers for our virtual career day. Here’s how it works:

2. Watch a FlipGrid tutorial on how to upload or record your video in FlipGrid.

Cursive Club
Our cursive club met today from 12:20-12:40.  We reviewed cursive letters c and a.  We also learned the cursive letters d, g, and q.

Music Class
Our music day and time will remain the same, but our music teacher has changed.  Dr. Verona will be the new music teacher.  She is out on maternity leave so there is currently a music substitute in her place.  All the links for music in Schoology have been switched around.  Students will still be connected to Mr. Foote's main page, but will be linked to Dr. Verona's Google Meet.

Cursive Club
I hope students enjoyed the first optional Cursive Club.  Students learned the lower case cursive letter "a" and "c"
As a reminder Cursive Club is optional and is not required toward any grade or toward the report card.  Cursive Club will meet every Friday from 12:20-12:40.

Art Supply Pick-Up
When: March 8th 8:00 am-10:00 am or 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm
Where: Pinebrook Bus Loop

Picture Re-takes
When: March 10th 8:15 am - 12:00 pm
