PINEBROOK SHOE DRIVE

PLEASE DONATE YOUR GENTLY WORN, USED AND NEW SHOES TO A CURE FOR JACK, BENEFITTING SLC6A1 #ACureforJack
My name is Janet Hart and I have been part of the Pinebrook family for the past two years. Our son, Jack, is a busy 6 year old boy living with a rare neurological disease, SLC6A1. He suffers from seizures, cognitive delays, apraxia of speech, and developmental delays. We are actively working toward a cure and need your help to raise the necessary funds to move on to a clinical trial for gene replacement therapy. Every shoe collected turns into dollars for #ACureforJack and will help Jack and the other children diagnosed with SLC6A1, the disease so rare, it doesn’t even have a name. Please click the link below to read more about Jack's story.
Accepting ALL shoes, including kids, athletic and cleats. No tears, rips, or holes please.
The goal is to collect 100 bags of shoes, with 25 pairs in each bag! Please help us to achieve this.
Collected shoes are used to support micro-enterprise vendors. Micro-enterprises are small businesses in developing nations. They are typically operated by one person or family and friends, depending on size.

A Call for Career Day Volunteers!
Do you remember how it felt when you started your job? The excitement, anticipation, because maybe you've never done it before? That's how we feel now!
If you are passionate about your occupation and would like to share with and inspire our students, we are looking for parent and community volunteers to speak/present at our upcoming Career Day (4/2/20)! You can share what your typical workday involves, where you went to school, and why you chose your particular occupation. Please return the linked google form by Mar. 2. Thank you for your support in helping our Pumas reach for the stars! https://forms.gle/cUR5bsyjEZGRbFcZ6

Quick Notes:
  • Tell us how we are doing!

  • Every year, LCPS families, teachers, and students in grades 3-12 take the LCPS Annual Stakeholder Surveys to share feedback about their schools. We use the results to assess the learning climate in our buildings and make plans for the following year. The Annual Parent and Family Survey is now open. We want to hear from everyone so that we can make the best decisions for ALL our students!
  • The parent/family survey will only take a few minutes of your time. To respond, go to https://www.lcps.org/Page/226918 You will be asked to fill out a survey for each grade level in which you have a child enrolled (elementary, middle, high, or program). The Survey will be open from February 18 - March 6, 2020.
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us!
